Consumer spending went up in April. Additionally, household incomes have increased over the same time last year:

Americans' incomes, meanwhile, rose by a strong 0.6 percent in April, marking the largest gain since January 2001.

The recovery, well under way, moves strongly forward.

Alas, where is this news? Not on the front page of CNN's web site. Nor MSNBC. We'll check back with the newspapers tomorrow. All bets will be taken on tomorrow's placement in the New York Times - though be warned that anything lower than 16A is a sucker's bet.
