Iran has done something incredibly stupid.

The British people have, to put in the best possible light, been on the fence, undecided, and at times (to include now), completely hostile, to UK involvement in Iraq. Present realities aside, British history was largely driven, and the empire maintained, by English seapower. That pride has been slapped in the face by Iranian gunboats.

I may be making too much of this, but this incident may do more to embolden the British citizenry to see things through.
