I suspect more people than ever are thinking of leaving.
I know I am -- no matter which party wins. Neither party has the guts to
address the two most important issues facing
this country: 1) out of control immigration;2) finding alternatives
non-renewable and increasingly scarce
fossil fuels.
Many Americans know that the country now has 293 million people, and every
poll on the subject says we want the immigration laws enforced. Yet neither
candidate will support enforcement of the laws. Both are afraid of losing
illegal immigrant votes. It's shameful.
most Americans don't know we have less than a three year supply of
petroleum in this country. Neither Bush nor Kerry
seems inclined to emphasize development of affordable hydrogen or
carbonate-powered fuel cells that would make this country completely
independent of OPEC and save
our own Cumberland mountains from strip mining.
Instead we're treated to daily doses military record sniping
and distracted by more emotional but less important issues as stem cell
research, gay marriage, abortion ad nauseum.
And Bob's priceless response
Kit,
Thanks for your comments. I'm sorry that you feel that way about retreating
from America. I'm sorrier still that you don't see the irony of wanting to
flee the country in order to escape from too many foreigners.
Sincerely,
Bob Krumm
Nicely done.
