It's time for the U.N. to bare all and release its Oil-for-Food documents.
No, it's past time. Where are the serious journalists now, when they are needed? I know that the UN is a sacrificial cow, but it's gotten fat and bloated, doing more harm than good. The time for slaughter was yesterday.

The scandal's estimates go as high as 5 times the UN's annual budget. In short, it would have been better for all if the organization had not even existed for the last five years during Hussein's rule. What does that tell you about its worth? Is its existence and cost worth it for the emotional coddling of a few naive politicians and partisans, and the self esteem of largely ineffectual nations?

I think the case has been made for its relocation to that "ash heap" where other failures have gone on to rest. I am convinced that the burden has been shifted to those arguing for its continued existence.
