I have always found the blatant act of pandering that is the election-time visit by Democrats to black churches to be one of the most offensive acts by that party. It's so fake and insulting ... and illegal.
One of my Catholic friends at work was particularly offended because John Kerry is obligated to be at mass every Sunday, not trying to win votes at a non-Catholic church. My understanding from Catholic relatives and friends is that attending mass -- without fail -- is an absolute requirement.
