12/08/2004 08:58:43 AM|||Sarah|||I ran an unsuccessful campaign for Metro Council in 2003 and lost to Harold White, who now represents (kind of) the 14th district. Not being a fan of Councilman White or his tactics, I have always been amused of the coverage provided to him by the Nashville Scene. A few examples:
November 24, 2004 (What locals are thankful for): Harold White: that he's loved by his constituents. Of course, by loved he means "despised with vigor." White says he's also thankful that he gets paid for hating gay people. What a country!
May 13, 2004: Metro Council member Harold White, whose footprints trace nearly every council debacle, is stumbling and bumbling once again, this time telling two of his colleagues that he had been ignoring a group of his constituents because, well, they didn't vote for him. -- "Why should I do anything for them if they didn't do anything for me," he apparently told fellow Metro Council members Mike Jameson and Erik Cole.
September 30, 2004: Off Limits would like to congratulate Metro Council member Harold White for making it through last week's meeting without crying. In a public hearing earlier this month, the Hermitage-area council member and, we should add, a fabulous gay basher, grew misty eyed when he discussed how many of his constituents opposed his frequent zoning changes (as does the Planning Commission, but we digress). All the bickering was taking its toll on his wife, he told the city's legislative body.
Even though I will most likely not be living in his district in 2007, I look forward to watching him get roundly defeated if he runs for reelection.|||110251846327241095|||Councilman Harold White
