Nathan Moore's Thoughts
Van v. Ed
Both Ed Bryant and Van Hilleary are duking it out to face Bob Corker in the stretch run of the Republican primary
BRENTWOOD, TN – Recently released reports from the Federal Election Commission (FEC) reveal that Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Ed Bryant, a former federal prosecutor and four-term Congressman, not only still leads his closest rival, 2002 gubernatorial nominee Van Hilleary, in both funds raised for the Republican primary and cash-on-hand for the Republican primary, but that Bryant has received more contributions for the primary from Tennesseans than Hilleary has received from all sources combined.
(emphasis in the original) So there you have it – Ed Bryant will beat Van Hilleary, thereby earning the right to lose to Bob Corker. Then there’s this
UPDATE: The Hilleary campaign quickly responded with a press release entitled “Remedial Math for Bryant Campaign.” Heh. The Hilleary release calls into question the truthfulness of the Bryant camp’s press release and calls on them to stop tarnishing Ed Bryant’s good name with ridiculous press releases. The Hilleary camp gets points for creativity, but they fail to refute one single fact contained in Bryant’s release. If Hilleary’s going to call the Bryant camp a bunch of liars, he should at least back up his claim!
My, my – it’s getting catty.
