Once CNN confirms it, you know it's true. The anti-American violence in Iraq is not Iraqi based. It seems all the Baathists are either resigned to the inevitable or have all been killed. The attacks are prompted by al Qaeda footsoldiers entering the country.

The War on Terror is being fought in Iraq, whether those who oppose the Iraqi victory want to admit it or not. I'll take car bombs in Baghdad rather than rental van bombs in New York every day of the week. If they attack us here, our freedoms become even more restricted. If they attack in Iraq, the fight is between their fanatics and our soldiers, with the added benefit of eliminating the venomous Islamist thought that has pervaded certain sectors of the Middle East. The more al Qaeda who are eliminated, the more free the region becomes.

And let us not think that all those participating are willing
