This story is not getting much coverage, but should. The old maxim that one can be the victim of one's success is apt in the War on Terror. The more that doesn't happen, the harder it is to remind people to stay the course. The Jordanians have thwarted an attack that would rival the human loss at Gettysburg, the perpetrators are being tried, and no one seems to notice.

Of course, it is noteworthy that minions of Abu-Musab al-Zarqawi were involved in the plot, targeting the most moderate Arab country for its cooperative association with the United States.

Notably, this whole episode confirms that there were chemical weapons deployed to be used in a terrorist attack right next door to Iraq, coming through Syria. And this wasn't a little vial of something or another. This was twenty tons of explosive capacity. This raises a most uncomfortable question for many on the left - where (from here) did these WMD's come from?

The chemicals are believed to be VX nerve gas. There was 20 tons of the weapons and explosives captured coming into Jordan from Syria. Syria doesn't make VX. Saddam Hussein's Iraq did.

And what does this say about the further waging of the current war? It appears possible, plausible, and if left alone as many would like, probable, that terrorist are interested in a very active way in attacking Western interests with chemical weapons.
