I have read and listened, and read again, the analysis and opinions flowing from the attacks in London. I am pleasantly surprised that the overwhelming sentiment is akin to that felt on 9/11, and the mood coming out of Britain is one of resolve, not cowardice (as contrasted to Spain after 3/11).

The one slight jab, which I noted as a theme in the New York Times coverage today, is that somehow, someway, we are unable to finish Iraq and wage war on al Qaeda at the same time.

Utter silliness, on multiple fronts. To assert Iraq is outside the War on Terror is symptomatic of Democratic talking points. To believe we can't handle Iraq, which is minor in the grand scheme of military occupation, and use special forces to hunt down and destroy al Qaeda is, well, utterly silly.

We are a nation that fought the two largest wars in separate theaters simultaneously, and won. We are a nation that has mobilized the largest forces for victory in the history of the world on multiple occasions. We have faced down the Soviets, the Nazis, the Shintos, and the Brits, at a time when we were the backwater of backwaters. Believing that the United States cannot calm a country of 20 million and fight a war requiring different assets and tactics is absurd. It is indicative of a criticism fraught with unrealistic expectations and ulterior motives. The attitude of those who state such modern-day fallacies is one of defeat and confusion. They refuse to recognize baseness where it exists, and then comment knowingly about subjects of which they have no grounds for understanding. In short, they speak ignorantly, and do so loudly.

The liberal chatters assert that somehow we cannot fight two disparate enemies at once. Truth, history, and perception have been thrown to the wind. Partisanship, self-hatred, and Neville Chamberlain live eternally. I say, long live Winston Churchill. Long live Margaret Thatcher. Let's hope the specter of Churchill and the steel of Thatcher live through Blair, and that the British reach back to their glorious past and join us in leading the world to stomp out Islamists wherever they may exist.
