Immigration
For a long time now, the federal government has failed to secure our borders. I have a plan to make state government work to combat illegal immigration. Under my plan, the state government would require all those who work in our state to prove their citizenship and follow the Blackburn model by penalizing employers who break our laws. Further, the state should not issue drivers licenses or other state identification to non citizens, and illegal aliens should never receive preferential treatment at state-financed institutions. Finally, it’s important to me that all state business is conducted in English. I know we can make this work, with your help-and we must, to preserve our culture and our future, for my children and yours.
Glad to see we have a Senate candidate who focuses on the “important” issues facing Tennesseans…like having to choose between different tests when getting a drivers license. I’m glad Chip is making the process easier. Also I’m glad to see the current crop of Republicans are abandoning the whole “small government” aspect of Conservatism by creating duel immigration authority on the State and Federal levels.

Sean, immigration is already a state issue. Our judicial system is overwhelmed with civil and criminal issues involving illegal aliens. Our health care system is sinking, partially due to the demand illegals place on providers. By requiring state government to conduct business in our own language, we can encourage those who are here to adapt and integrate, which should be the goal of all Americans.
Sean, I don’t think you’ll find a conservative more in favor of limited government in that senate race than Mayor Throckmorton.
