I and many others are 100% behind Mr. Corker - Believe me, between now and election day I plan to personally knock on every door I can and make all the phone calls I can to tell everyone I can that Corker would be the best Senator for Tennessee - I can't recall what Mr. Ford has been doing for the past 9 years in Congress - perhaps bailing his family out of jail? or was he helping sign up dead people to vote for him? He has been absent for votes on issues that I care about.
I know that Mr. Corker has been working hard as the Mayor of Chattanooga to make Tennessee a better place to live and improving the lives of Tennesseans, being a public servant that has actually been serving the people of Tennessee, not soliciting money for his campaign from slimes such as Bill & Hill Clinton. Mr. Ford is a smooth talker and sometimes what he says even makes some sense, but in many ways Mr. Ford could be called SLICK.
I know that I am working hard to elect BOB CORKER because I believe that Mr. Corker will represent me and my views and values in DC, much more so than Mr. Ford.

"The overall point, I suppose, is that Bob Corker’s campaign staff is perhaps the best in the country. There’s no confusion, and no panic."

Right. So, that's why the National GOP has issued a <a href="http://www.nashvillepost.com/news/2006/9/14/sources_state_repubs_read_riot_act" rel="nofollow">"get off your rumps, TN GOP" directive</a>? The National GOP is terribly disappointed with the way the TN GOP is running its campaigns with Bryson and Corker. You keep telling yourself y'all are the best in the country and watch Ford, Jr. take his seat in the Senate.

Hey Nathan,

Do you remember when Corker was ahead in the primary, and then dropped down to even with his opponents? I don't either. These are two different scenarios. In the Primary, Corker was still largely unknown statewide, and he had to make himself known. In the General, he still isn't completely known, but he has much higher name recognition than he did at the onset of the Primary.

Bob Corker is either dead even, or behind (considering which poll you look at) in a year when Democrats are making gains all across the country. He's a Bush Republican in a year when Bush is not popular, even in Tennessee.

You say he has a plan, but all campaigns have a plan, and 50% of the time they prove to be bad plans (or at least not as good as their opponents). The fact that he has allowed Ford to gain the momentum on him, also means that the NRSC is probably going to have to shell out more money to help his campaign than they originally planned, meaning they will probably have to divert money from other key races to help Corker.

All things considered, from the outsiders prospective it looks like a bad decision to spend a month after the Primary ended, going around to Republican blogs, instead of talking directly to the people of Tennessee.

Nathan,

There's only one poll that counts, and that's in 7 weeks, and 5 days. I have found out first hand that you will attract critics for blogging for a specific candidate. It comes with the territory. Stay the course, my friend.

Nathan, Corker has good people supporting him that he doesn't deserve.
