Have you ever been to China? I have and I didn't stay in the "free trade coast line" and I am with the "impoverished peoples of its inland". I have to admit getting donkeys carts everywhere is quite annoying.

I agree with you, the Xinhiang people are about as likely or able to cause any trouble on their donkeys as Arab people can on their camels or have as much potential power as those Brits with their cups of mildly flavoured hot water. Can you imagine if they all decided to throw their tea at someone?

What would you consider the main mode of transport in Afghanistan, Iraq and Vietnam? I find that comment about donkeys, and the whole paragraph, quite offensive.

I'm by no means saying China has a perfect government, or in fact a 'good' government.
