McCain now agrees with Obama that people ought to take some personal responsibility to reduce their consumption while the Federal Government expands its role in the energy market. Its John McCain and the Republicans who have dug themselves into a corner in opposing something so simple.
“Its (sic) John McCain and the Republicans who have dug themselves into a corner in opposing something so simple.”
I heartily disagree. McCain and Republicans have always been firmly in support of personal responsibility. Obam’s “facts” regarding how much inflating tires would save us are based on the assumption that we all have very under inflated tires…and even then the amount saved does NOT equal what we would eventually have by drilling. Read the article by Hinderaker….unless you are afraid.
Obama has yet to demonstrate his mind resides in the real world. Whether it is energy or foreign policy, Obama’s ideas are of fleeting importance. More and more it is becoming apparent that Barack Obama lacks the capacity for critical thought.
That is because you refuse to listen to him, and only go off of the RNC talking points. If you had listened to what he said, all of it, you’d realize its perfectly acceptable, that when asked, he gave an example of how individuals can help reduce their consumption of oil.
Now, you might have problems with his energy plans, lack of increased offshore drilling, lack of increased nuclear; but that doesn’t mean he is absent critical thought or a plan.
You didn’t read the article. What Obama said about inflating your tires properly (what most of us already do) is OK as advice to an individual….but NOT correct when he tried to equate the energy savings that this would accomplish as equal to what we would gain by drilling for oil.
It’s not simple or simplistic… it’s condescending. He might as well have said “if all those SUV driving, Bible hugging, gun toting rurals would just check their f*cking tire pressure America wouldn’t have an energy problem”. Like he’s ever bent over with a tire pressure gauge himself… geezzz. What a pompus empty-suit wind-bag. He’s like many of the kids I meet that are 10 to 20 years his younger. They’ve got an answer for EVERYTHING. The deal though, is that they’ve not yet learned enough to know how little they know.
He must have been really insulated from common sense by his handlers to still be that way at his age. Telling Joe Commuter to check his freakin’ tires… geezzz.
That’s what we’ve got to look forward to I guess… decrees from on high to check our tires to save fuel and to wipe our @$$es to prevent disease.
I've got two daughters, nine years old and six years old. I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby.

Step back and breathe a second Nathan…you’ll see that advocating personal responsibility coupled with federal action is the best course of action.

One could also sign the petition to recall congress and take a vote:

To Sean and Kay:
You both ought to read John Hinderaker’s article, “Obama Doubles Down,” at Powerline:
