Nathan Moore's Thoughts
The Washington Post's Mea Culpa
I know the Democrats I know are tired of hearing about “media bias”, blah, blah. At certain times, it sure does seem like conservatives are whining. Then we read stories like this
But Obama deserved tougher scrutiny than he got, especially of his undergraduate years, his start in Chicago and his relationship with Antoin “Tony” Rezko, who was convicted this year of influence-peddling in Chicago. The Post did nothing on Obama’s acknowledged drug use as a teenager.
…
One gaping hole in coverage involved Joe Biden, Obama’s running mate. When Gov. Sarah Palin was nominated for vice president, reporters were booking the next flight to Alaska. Some readers thought The Post went over Palin with a fine-tooth comb and neglected Biden. They are right; it was a serious omission.
The story by Deborah Howell dissects the numbers as well – positive stories on each candidate, color photos, issue pieces, and the like, all favored Obama. To their credit, The Post has admitted they were derelict, but it is a little late – the damage is done.

Actually, the Post’s Omsbudswoman admitted their shortcomings. There was no statement of agreement from management. I’m sure they disagree.

Fair point. So I shouldn’t give the Post total credit?

Credit for leaning left and leading the charge for BO? Yes.
Admitting they did it knowingly with malice aforethought? Nope.
