I’ve been a blogging slacker recently. So, I thought I would at least take a few moments to share a few questions that have stuck in my mind.
If almost everyone on the planet has recorded a Christmas album (my record drops next Tuesday … look for it exclusively at your neighborhood Dollar General), why do the “all Christmas, all the time” radio stations rotate the same ten songs over and over … and over … again? And, why are half of them sung by The Carpenters?
What if Mike Ditka had decided to run for the U. S. Senate against Barack Obama in 2004 (instead of that wacky and charming Allan Keyes)? Ditka was the beloved coach of “Da Bears,” after all. That counts for some votes. Could he have beaten Obama? Oh, how different history would be.
Will my “start my resolutions in December” idea be successful? I have a list of New Year’s Resolutions that I started practicing yesterday. That way, the ones that I have no intention of keeping will be weeded out by the time 2009 comes around. Then, already having established the new habits, I will declare the remaining goals as my REAL resolutions. I figure I have a better shot at a 100% success rate this way (instead of my regular 15-20%).
