I apologize that I haven’t had the chance to write Part Two of my thoughts from yesterday’s English Only debate. I certainly have more to say! But, I did want to take a quick moment to share another gem from the opening remarks.

Jon Crisp was explaining to the audience how simple and straightforward the proposed charter amendment and its intentions are. He turned to Nathan and said, “Nathan, I know some people over at the Nashville Peace and Justice Center don’t seem to understand that.”

I’m fairly certain I giggled just a little bit at that moment. Of course, Crisp was trying to associate my husband with the lefty organization that is actively working against English Only and therefore remove any legitimacy Nathan may have in front of the conservative crowd. But, if any of you know Nathan and/or are regular regulars of our blog, the idea of Nathan sitting around in a kumbaya circle with the guys over at Peace and Justice is hilarious.
