Nathan Moore's Thoughts
The Tea Party Times: It's an Amateurish Conspiracy!
Michelle Malkin provides a selection of oppositional opinion on the whole tea party movement. It appears the three finalists are that it is either a carefully orchestrated anti-Obama campaign, a CNBC promotional ploy, or a bunch of rank amateurs with flags. In short, they (meaning the ubiquitous “they” that encompasses the leftist cabal), just do not know what to make of it all.
I can only speak with authority on the tea party held here in Nashville on Friday. It was organized primarily by Judson Phillips, a fellow conservative lawyer, and promoted by local conservative activists on blogs, Twitter and Facebook. I bought a bull horn from Radio Shack the morning of the protest. The signs were all participant-made, and the participants were from all economic backgrounds. The flags at the steps of the War Memorial were provided by Tennessee State Representative Glen Casada’s office. Oh, and the Tennessee GOP was there and in support, but were not involved in any of the planning.
Sadly for the tin-foil, black helicopter Daily Kos theorists, there was no central command. If there is a check coming from CNBC, I am still waiting on it. The turnout, for five days of planning, for people who by their very nature never protest, was excellent.
So, there. To my port-side brethren (and believe it if you can), there are actually normal, middle class people individually choosing to vocally oppose the president’s policies. That is it. It is that simple.
Really, it is.

County the Village Voice as considering us rank amateurs who lie. Rightbloggers Hold a Sparsely-Attended Tea Party.
Thanks for getting the bull horn. For next time remind them to nearly ‘eat’ that microphone while speaking.
Do you know where thee count of 600 came from?

Not sure, exactly. I counted early on and easily got into the 250-300 range – there was clearly a few hundred there over the hour. The report that said “dozens” they cite is the only one that got it that wrong. Every other media outlet in attendance the Village Voice ignored got it right.
Even though the Voice is one of the most leftist rags there is, I still offer congrats on the link!
