Nathan Moore's Thoughts

About the Authors

Nathan Moore is an attorney in Nashville, Tennessee, who, as disclosure requires, is philosophically a classical liberal. The opinions and commentary are certainly those of a conservative, and as the subtext of this blog indicates, one who believes in personal freedom above all else. He has served as chairman of the Davidson County Young Republicans and as Middle Tennessee Director for the Tennessee Young Republican Federation. He is also the founder of Keep Nashville Growing, a group started to fight tax increases and economically restrictive policies in Metropolitan Nashville. As of January 2, 2007, he is Of Counsel to Escobar & Parks PLLC, a newly formed Nashville law firm that specializes in trial work.

Nathan earned his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, and his Juris Doctor from George Mason University School of Law, Arlington, Virginia. He is certified to practice law in Tennessee state courts, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. He is an active member of the Tennessee Bar Association, and at various times in the past a member of the American Bar Association, Association of Trial Lawyers of America, Commercial Law League of America, and the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Sarah Moore is an aspiring writer whose most important job is being Mom to daughter Catherine (born January 2006). Before becoming a parent, she held academic advising positions at Middle Tennessee State University , University of Maryland and Boston University. Sarah also served time in the public school systems of Maryland and Tennessee as a high school teacher of Government and Economics.

Unlike Nathan, Sarah did not exit the womb as a devoted conservative. She was the vice-president of the College Democrats at the University of Maryland and worked as a White House intern for President Clinton. Sarah’s experience was decidedly different from that of her intern peer, Ms. Lewinsky, although the President did once wink at her while getting into an elevator in the Old Executive Building. Sarah’s conversion came from teaching in the public schools, living in D.C. on 9/11 and watching Al Gore make a racist and condescending speech to the NAACP in 2000. However, several of Sarah’s liberal friends who will no longer speak to her (because they are so open-minded) insist that Nathan has brainwashed her.

Sarah earned Bachelors of Arts in Government and Politics and Russian Area Studies from the University of Maryland. She returned several years later to earn her Masters in Education from the same wonderful institution. Go Terps!
